Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you, the Shopify merchant who installs PriceGrid ("you"), and PriceGrid, operated by S Surendranath, a sole proprietor based in India ("PriceGrid", "we", "us"). By installing or using PriceGrid you agree to them. If you use PriceGrid on behalf of a business, you agree for that business. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data.

1. The service

PriceGrid is an app for Shopify stores that lets you view and edit product prices, compare-at prices and costs, apply changes immediately or at a scheduled time, and run sales that revert automatically. PriceGrid works only through Shopify, and you need an active Shopify store to use it. Shopify's own terms continue to apply to your store.

2. Plan, trial and billing

• PriceGrid costs US$9.99 per month, with a 14-day free trial for new installs. Prices may be shown in your local currency by Shopify.
• Billing is handled by Shopify: charges appear on your Shopify invoice and are governed by Shopify's billing terms. You approve the subscription in Shopify before you're charged.
• You can cancel at any time by uninstalling PriceGrid. Charges already made are not refunded, except where required by law or where we decide otherwise at our discretion. Write to us if you believe you were charged in error.
• Without an active trial or subscription, you can still view your prices and history, but editing is turned off and scheduled changes are paused until you choose a plan.
• We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice. A price change takes effect only once you approve it in Shopify.

3. Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for the prices you set. PriceGrid applies the prices, schedules and sales you enter. Please check them before you submit, especially bulk changes and sale windows. We are not responsible for sales, losses or customer disputes caused by prices you entered or scheduled.
• You are responsible for who in your store can use PriceGrid, through Shopify's staff permissions, and for what they do in it.
• You must use PriceGrid lawfully, including consumer protection and pricing laws that apply to your store (for example, rules on how sale and reference prices are advertised).
• You must not misuse the service: no attempts to access other stores' data, interfere with or overload the service, reverse engineer it, or resell it.

4. How scheduled changes work

Scheduled changes and sales are applied by our servers, usually within about a minute of the time you set. They can be delayed by maintenance, by outages at Shopify or our hosting provider, or by Shopify's rate limits. If a price was changed outside PriceGrid after you scheduled a change, PriceGrid doesn't overwrite it: it marks the change as not applied and shows you why. Changes are paused while PriceGrid is uninstalled or your store has no active plan.

5. Your data

Your store's data remains yours. You give us permission to use it only to provide PriceGrid, as described in the privacy policy. When you uninstall, your data is deleted as described there.

6. Availability and changes to PriceGrid

We work to keep PriceGrid available and reliable, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve, change or remove features. If we discontinue PriceGrid entirely, we'll give at least 30 days' notice where we reasonably can.

7. Disclaimer

PriceGrid is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PriceGrid is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, sales or data, arising from your use of PriceGrid. Our total liability for any claim relating to PriceGrid is limited to the amount you paid for PriceGrid in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Suspension and termination

You can stop using PriceGrid at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if Shopify ends our ability to provide the app. Sections 3, 7, 8 and 11 continue to apply after termination.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for material changes we'll notify you through the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use PriceGrid after that means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India. This doesn't remove any mandatory consumer or business protections that the law of your own country gives you.
